Dr. Lou joined UNL as chairman of the Department in 1993. Prior to that, he served as chairman at Syracuse University, the University of Texas at Arlington, and the University of Delaware. He is a member of the ASME and associate editor of its Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power. He is a member of Rho Psi, Sigma Xi, Pi Tau Sigma, and Tau Beta Pi. Dr. Lou is listed in American Men and Women of Science, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who's Who in the World.

Research Interests:

Thermal analysis of curing of composite materials, thermal manufacturing process analysis, thermal modeling of pulse combustors, heat transfer in phase change materials, entrance region heat transfer in channels and tubes, heat conduction in rarefied gases, solar thermal energy conversion, solar collectors, energy storage, photovoltaic assisted heat pump systems, biomechanics of arterial blood flow, orthopedic biomechanics.
